Starry & Starlett

An early Saturday morning in late May, Starry the Clown sat up in his bed smiling and thinking, ―WOW!‖ spring is really here. Starry smelled the flowers that his mother had planted in the garden from his open bedroom window. He heard the sound of birds chirping and the roar of lawn mowers being driven by his neighbors. Starry the Clown loved the spring season. It was getting closer to the end of the school year. Starry thought about himself and his twin sister, Starlett. They would be completing the second grade this semester. We can start thinking about summer camp and making new friends in a few weeks, he thought. Starry turned his thoughts to his good friends and what they would do over the weekend. Looking around his bedroom, he knew that he would have to complete his chores, and the number one task on his list was getting his room cleaned and organized. Starry jumped out of bed and headed towards the bathroom to take his morning shower. While in the shower, he thought of his best buddies, Jordan and Billy, and how much fun they always had together. Jordan and Starry were so close. They seemed like brothers to each other. Starry the Clown smiled when he thought of Jordan, his friend meant so much to him. Jordan was there for him to talk to when he and his family were going through a medical crisis after the birth of his baby sister. Starry would not forget how Jordan helped him cope with his feelings of sadness and confusion.
