Little Muffins and Calley Cupcake had been best friends forever. They were born in the same bakery and even attended all the same bake sales!
When they got older, Little Muffins and Calley even went to school together. They were nervous, but also excited to meet all of their new friends. There were bagels, cookies, brownies, and cakes! There were even more muffins and cupcakes!
Little Muffins and Calley made plenty of new friends, but they were still best friends and loved each other very much. They always sat together at lunch.
At one of the tables in the cafeteria, there sat the most popular baked goods in school. They were the fanciest cupcakes Little Muffins had ever seen! They had frosting in every color swirled high up on their heads. They had fancy paper cups. Some even claimed to have sprinkles that they wore at home as sprinkles were expressly forbidden at school!

About the Book
Little Muffins and Calley Cupcake have been best friends ever since they were born in the same bakery. As school begins, they can hardly wait to meet all of the other colorful and diverse baked goods!
As soon as Little Muffins notices a group of popular and beautiful cupcakes at a table in the cafeteria, she wonders why they are not always nice to the other baked goods at school. But when Calley Cupcake comes to school one day with a pretty new paper cup and a fancy swirl of frosting, the popular cupcakes invite Calley to a party. Calley wants her friend to come along, so Little Muffins dresses up as a fancy cupcake and they both head to the party. But soon Little Muffins discovers that being popular is not all it is cracked up to be.
In this children’s picture book, a muffin must find the courage to make a hard decision, stand up for what is right and, most importantly, celebrate the greatness and beauty inside.
About the Author
Joe Narcisi has been creating cartoons for his wife (whom he calls “Muffins”) to brighten her days since before they were married. They live with their daughter in Rhode Island. This is his first book.
