The opportunity to live our later years is a blessing that many do not have. If you are in these years’, be thankful and enjoy this time as much as possible. That depends, of course, on your state of health. If you are ‘up and about’, there are many things you can do to have a rewarding life. Search for these ways and use your God-given abilities to make your life and the lives of others much better. You will be surprised at how fulfilling these years can be.
We already know a lot about living but we must adjust to the possibilities we have now. Yes, there are STILL many ways we can use our abilities to enjoy these later years. We take what we CAN do, add it to what we WANT to do and go from there. You must know by now what you do best. If you don’t, it is PAST time for you to know! You can use these abilities to enjoy a more rewarding life and maybe even help others in the process.
Your days of accomplishment aren't over unless you choose them to be. Maybe an attitude adjustment might give you a goal, rather than spending hours deciding what you will prepare for supper. These hours are a gift; use them in the best way as you learn that life can still be exciting. It is your choice to spend your later years waiting to die OR allow a new idea to bring hope and the pleasure of achievement. We can be a failure at 30 or a success at 80. Which will you choose?

Lura Zerick,—now eighty-three—still hasn't learned the meaning of the words quit or can’t. When not baking for her twelve grandchildren or eight great-grandchildren, she is studying online to complete her BA in biblical studies. She lives on six acres in the Alabama woods.
