He who promised is faithful
[Abraham], having waited long and endured patiently, realized and obtained that which God had promised him. ~Hebrews 6:15
Just as it was with Abraham, we realize and obtain the blessings God has promised to us through patient endurance. Patient endurance is probably one of our least favorite things to do, but it accomplishes so much on the inside of us. Waiting for extended periods of time for God to fulfill all the amazing promises He has made can cause us to start doubting Him if we don’t have our hearts in the right place. The right place to keep you heart is full of praise and thanksgiving, trusting Him to bring about just the right blessing at just the right time.
We are all waiting to experience God’s promised blessings in our lives and we need to encourage ourselves daily that as we wait it is important to be thankful for what we already have and how far we have already come. Thanksgiving builds a foundation for where you are right now. You cannot start on the second story of a building until you have laid a foundation for the first. Thanking God for where we are today makes room for new additions in our lives and who isn't ready for a new addition? Don’t let the enemy talk you into doubting your Lord while you are waiting on God to fulfill a particular promise or desire He has placed on your heart. Start reminding yourself of how much God loves you and what He has brought into your life so far. God does amazing things for us each and every day. Trust Him with your big dreams while you experience His personal care for you in the details of today; that is patient endurance!
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. ~Hebrews 10:23

Restoration Is a Process
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are —yet He did not sin. ~Hebrews 4:15
Jesus understands us when nobody else does. He even understands us when we don’t understand ourselves. He knows “the why behind the what.” People only see what we do, and they want to know why we are not doing it better or more. Jesus knows why we behave the way we do. He sees and remembers all the emotional wounds and bruises we have experienced. He knows what we were created for. He knows the temperament that was given to us in our mother’s womb. He understands our weaknesses—every fear, every insecurity, every doubt, and all of our wrong thinking.
Once we put our faith in the Lord, He begins a process of restoration in our lives that will not be entirely finished until we are in heaven with Him. One by one He restores to us everything the enemy has stolen from us. We must aggressively resist the legalistic attitudes that condemn us for not being enough, doing enough or having enough. Those attitudes can come from others or from ourselves. Jesus says "we are ok and we are on our way". He understands us, He loves us unconditionally, and He is committed to working with us through the Holy Spirit—and He does not condemn us during the process. If you have put your trust in the Lord, He is working in your life right now, making you the person He created you to be, not the person others expect you to be!
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose. ~Philippians 2:12-13

Don’t stay trapped in the past, nor let the past stay trapped in you
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! ~Isaiah 43:18, 19
With God’s help we are able to face any challenge or opportunity that come our way. God is an innovator and He is always doing something new. He tells us to “forget the former things and do not dwell on the past”. God knows our best days are ahead of us. They are full of new experiences that are going to develop our potential and abilities to prepare us for even bigger endeavors! Don’t stay trapped in the past and don’t let the past stay trapped in you.
In Ecclesiastes 7:10 we read “Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions.” It’s not wise to ask those questions because if we do, we are not trusting God with our tomorrows and in His awesome love and promise of blessing towards us today! Look ahead and embrace the new opportunities and challenges God is bringing into your life every single day. Don't let setbacks cause you to look back. Setbacks can actually be set-ups for something bigger and better than you could have ever thought to ask for if you continue to trust and praise God as you look ahead. David said in Psalm 16:6 "You make my life pleasant, and my future is bright". Make that your confession today and thank God for the bright future He has in store for you!
But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. ~Genesis 19:26
