THE FIRE INSIDE: MY JOURNEY
My spiritual guide leads me in many directions and gives me the energy
I need to succeed. My God, speaker of truth and certainty, lights my pathway to happiness. My role is defined by my beliefs of beauty and accepting who.
I am. My rights as an individual grant me the freedom to become the woman that I can admire.
The ability to control my attitude calms me and contributes to my peace.
The tenacity in me, THE FIRE INSIDE ME, ignites a storm which fuels my passions. People who do not have my best interest at heart, will not dissuade my goals or negatively influence my ideas. The smiles that radiate on my daughters’ faces, as well as, hearing them say, I love you Mommy,
are my inspirations.
My safety depends on common sense and making rational decisions.
My security and inner self-esteem prevents me from getting hurt.
My comfort comes from knowing that I am truly loved by someone very special, Jesus Christ. My calling in life is to show others kindness and empathy without prejudging them because of their circumstances.
The lack of enthusiasm from opportunists will not upset my morale.
Limited resources and scarce opportunities will not conclude my mission.
Setbacks and disappointments will not alter my fate. Little riches and deficient materials do not take away from my fortune.
My fears are hidden behind tears but they dry before falling.
My failures at trying things, only heightens my motivation to excel.
My dreams are vivid with pictures of beautiful sunrises and sunflowers.
My desires are cultivated from images of divine happiness.
Continual positive growth in an unyielding field is a sign of my strength. The smile I wear and the confidence I display, reflects my spirit. Using good judgment and determining the best outcome for me is solely, my choice.
Discouraging people and their uninvited opinions can’t stop me from exercising my voice.
My path maybe paved with stones but my feet are made of resilient skin.
My blessings may come a dime a dozen, but I am grateful for each one.
My best is always given so that I will be prepared for my big break whenever it presents itself. My differences set me apart from others. My imperfections make me the special individual that I am. My psyche depends on a good family support system and reliable, loving, friends.
I am thankful for LIFE. I am grateful for my health. I don’t let tough times get the best of me. Generosity and appreciation contributes to my wealth. Completing my goals define my worth. Rewards come when least expected and I am patiently waiting on my turn. Unfulfilled expectations won’t distract me from believing in my vision. My hope is to leave behind a proud legacy for my humble children.
My ambition is to make a difference. Every day presents a new chance.
Each day, I would like to positively impact someone’s life in a selfless manner. Today, my aim is to carry on my journey- to invent (or reinvent) myself. I use my time wisely to notice what influences affect my success.
THE FIRE INSIDE ME keeps the process going. With a strong sense of self,
I will always make good progress.

About the Book
Not One Ten Passions is a collection of thoughts that explores my passions and priorities in life. This is a journey through one’s spiritual mind, in hopes of expressing what’s important in life. In order for us to attain happiness and fulfillment, we must first recognize what we are passionate about. What makes a person smile? Having a sense of purpose leads people to figure out their personal goals and the strategies necessary to obtain them. It is never too late to take risks, but why wait? Once you form your vision, you have to put effort into seeing it become a reality.
This book is a long time in the making. I wanted to share with others my most favorite things. What makes my heart flutter is being smothered by my two daughters and being surrounded by God’s creations. Everyone experiences situations differently. We have to respect each other’s viewpoints and understand that what matters to one should affect us all. Looking on the bright side of things, we must focus on ourselves, and then we can better help our communities.
Encouraging words have a profound effect on our emotions. I hope to be able to motivate and inspire others to seek their full potential. If faced with obstacles, you must brush yourself off and keep pressing forward.

Frederica Burrage was born in Philadelphia, PA. She is a firefighter and a wedding coordinator. She is also the mother of two girls. Frederica enjoys reading and doing puzzles. She is inspired to write about her passions and share her poetic, insightful work with others. Her other hobbies include taking photos of her beautiful family and radiant flowers.
