Tex and Jiffie

Tex was a little girl. Tex was not her real name. Her father named her Tex because she always wore six shooters on her hips and spurs on her cowgirl boots. She liked being a cowgirl. And she liked Teddy Bears.

Every night, when Tex was finished with her cowgirl duties, she would take off her guns and boots, put on her flannel pajamas and climb into bed with her favorite Teddy Bear. She loved to cuddle them because they kept her warm at night and made her feel safe.

In the town where Tex lived was Mr. Painter's Teddy Bear Shop. Every day, on the way from school, Tex would stop at the window to look at the display of new and used bears. Tex had many bears over the years; Louie, Gordie and Bobbie to name a few but Tex's favorite bear was the one she had received most recently.
