Soon, Jesus started to speak. John could hear Jesus’ voice now and again, but he couldn’t see him. His driver picked John up and put him on his shoulders. “There he is, can you see him now?” he asked. “Yes, I think so, does he have reddish colored hair and a beard?” John asked. “That is him,” Peter said. “I met his family in Cana a month ago. Some of his relatives are quite light in color and have blue eyes.” “I see him,” John said. “He certainly draws a large crowd.” The driver was getting tired of holding John and put him on the ground. “I can’t see him from here, will you hold put me on your shoulders?” he asked. Peter grabbed John and put him on his shoulders. “Quiet,” he said. “Some of us are interested in what he is saying.” Jesus talked about repentance, and then asked the crowd to pray with him. “Bow your head,” Peter whispered to John. “We are going to pray.” John looked down at Peter. “I can see him, what do I say?” John asked. “Listen to me then repeat what I say,” Peter instructed. John nodded. After the prayer, Peter put John on the ground and grabbed his arm.

About the Book
John Mark was born John and became the Christian Mark. He was related to several early Christians including Barnabas and Peter. He traveled on missions with Barnabas, Paul, and Peter. He was educated and lived in Jerusalem where as a young man he saw Jesus on several occasions. After Jesus was crucified, he met with the resurrected Christ and became a dedicated missionary and teacher. He was a scribe for Paul and became known as the author of the second gospel which is a record of Peter’s lessons and memories of Jesus. He spent his last years in Alexandria teaching Jesus’ message and expanding the influence of the Christian Church.
About the Author
The author served in the U.S. Navy and then went to college. After graduating with an engineering degree, he enjoyed careers (50+ yrs.) as an engineer, businessman, and professor. He is now retired but writes novels. While reading the New Testament for over sixty years and teaching Sunday School Bible classes for twenty years, Fellow, John Mench, Ph.D., has been conflicted by the lack of personality within the testament. He endeavors to add perspective to the message of the testament by creating lives for those who wrote and developed Jesus’ message.
