About the Book
McCoy Pottery I went to an auction and what did I see? A piece of McCoy pottery. A vase, bright yellow and tall And that’s not all! There was a heron thereon! The color was divine and the lines were sublime “I must have it! I must! In God I trust! He, the money will supply, I don’t know why Except He knows it’s important to me To satisfy my ‘eye, which has a love of beauty. To convey it is my duty; to delight my essence And to present it to God from the depths of my heart, A part of what I believe, of what I perceive, a part of Him. A piece of clay tells me all this, such an existential twist.
About the Author
She lived through the 60’s and it seems that history is repeating itself. Since she is very old and may not live much longer (which is entirely reasonable as she has lived with schizophrenia longer than is usual) and no longer feels the need to ‘mince words.’ She got started in the arts at the College of William and Mary in the early 60’s and continued in the field at NOVA in Manassas, Va, studying with Randy Michener. She took up writing with Professor Robert Ascom at LFCC in Warrenton, Va. She loves the arts including music. She loves God and Christ who gifts people with the creative instincts.
