Koala Bea’s School Woes

The next morning as Bea got ready for school, she moved extra slowly. She was able to tackle her homework last night with some laughter, but she still dreaded going to school. Bea did not have homework every night, but she DID have to face a challenge every day at school. There was a bully at school, Kendra Kangaroo, and Kendra’s favorite target was Bea. Koala Bea tried to be nice to Kendra. That would work for a while, and then Kendra would start her nasty tricks again. To Bea, being nice to Kendra was like having to do homework in every subject...every day. In fact, Bea would almost prefer having to do homework instead of bumping into Kendra. Still, Bea couldn’t blame Kendra for being a bully. Bea’s mom said once that God is love, and if someone didn’t know God, then they really didn’t know how to be kind because being kind is part of love. Bea wished everyone knew God so every person would be kind to each other. Then Bea wouldn’t have to worry about having a good day at school. She could just concentrate on silly new ways to get out of doing her lessons at night! At the end of the school day, Bea saw Kendra walking down the hall toward her. Whenever you have a hard time, Bea recalled her mom saying, just remember to put on your armor and never take it off. When her mom spoke this, she was referring to the book of Ephesians in the Bible. Bea remembered in chapter 6 verses 10 through 17, Scripture says to put on the belt of truth meaning, never tell lies. The passage says to wear the breastplate of righteousness, which is to always do the right thing. Bea must have her feet ready with the gospel of peace, showing she will try to avoid trouble with others. According to the Bible she must carry the shield of faith to protect herself, wear the helmet of salvation by remembering what Jesus did for her, and carry the sword of the Spirit, which is to remember the Word of God. Koala Bea laughed out loud at the thought of her fluffy fur sticking out of a suit of armor.
