About the Author

Clarence E. Smith was born in Seymour, Indiana on March 13, 1932 to Reverend Elmore Smith, Sr. and Addie Shutters Smith. He attended public school in Seymour until his freshman year of high school. They moved to Rice Lake, Wisconsin where he finished high school. He then attended, in St. Paul MN, the Apostolic Bible Institute. Moved to Indiana in 1952. 1953, moved to Herrin, IL, pastored the First Pentecostal Church for 5 years. Transferred to The Apstolic Church, Belleville, IL. Was the Illinois Youth Director, UPC and camp director, and continues in gospel work. Clarence was married to Annabelle Frisinger Smith, who preceded him in death. They had four children, Gregory and Timothy, deceased, and David and Gail Smith. He married Catherine Hodgson Smith, deceased, whose children, Maurice and Melinda Sisson, survive.
