About the Book
Gertie is a prickly thistle plant with a big wish. She wants to be long and flexible like grass, pretty like a wildflower, or useful like a tree. After all, what is a thistle good for anyway? As Gertie seeks advice, her wise mother tells her that God looks at her heart, not who she is on the outside, as she teaches her about the real definition of beauty and purpose through His Word and wisdom. But will Gertie ever uncover the Lord’s plan for her and unconditionally love herself, in all her prickly glory, just as He does? Beauty and the Peace is the tale of a Scotch thistle as she contemplates her purpose in life and discovers that she is perfect in God’s eyes.
