Jack, the rabbit, shared some peanut cookies with the students, and then Big Cheeks started his story. God says to love one another and help those in need, doing this will bring you joy. Chipper, a student asked, "Should I help a baby bird if it falls out of its nest and help a squirrel that buries a nut and can't find it?" "Yes," said Big Cheeks.

About the Book
Big Cheeks from Squirrely Beach is still on his desert adventure and is invited by a teacher named Ms. Hootie, to come visit the Squirrely School. Big Cheeks will be sharing the joy he gets from helping others in need. While visiting, his friend Zippy, comes across a poor little doggie in bad shape. Everyone wants to love and take care of her. Then a big emergency happens and the joy of helping others in need comes to life for everyone. This story was inspired by and is dedicated to Mrs. Kay Laake’s third-grade class of 2022, at Del Rio Elementary School, in Chino Valley, AZ. It was our end of school-year project.
About the Author
Laura has been blessed as a graphic designer for 40 years. After retiring, she started to illustrate and write children’s books, a dream of hers since high school. When Laura and her family lived in sunny southern California, they frequently took their dog, Angel, to the dog beach. That beach is where the first two Big Cheeks stories in this series take place. The ground squirrel families play around the rocks and enjoy being fed by the visitors. Laura’s experience comes from a fulfilled life of being a Christian mom, wife, and business owner. She desires to continue to use her talents for God. She wants her books to put a big smile on children’s faces and give them good wholesome stories to read.
