Memories of Montana

It was August, 1974. I followed my husband, Bill, up the winding drive to our new home. My senses were overwhelmed with the sights and feelings I was experiencing. I wanted to remember this moment forever. It took us two days to make the long trek from Denver to northwestern Montana. Bill drove the huge rental truck, pulling our car, while I drove our pick-up and pulled the horse trailer with our horses, Cochise and Shamrock inside. We were bringing everything we owned including the horses, three German shepherds and a cat. The dogs were with Bill, the cat was with our seven-year-old daughter, Stacey, and me. It was a sort of wagon train and I felt like a pioneer woman!
