Whombus the prince of whales

For the first time since they had left the icy water where they lived, Whombus was more excited than sad and scared. The water was warm and he saw all sorts of new colorful fish every time he went deep down below the waves. The sounds seemed like a song to him, like he could almost understand them. Then his mother started to sing the same songs. Then something wonderful happened. It was only two days later that Whombus woke up and saw something he couldn’t believe. Whales! There were whales just like him everywhere. They were all singing whale songs like the ones he had been hearing. He couldn’t believe it. He was so happy that he went all the way up to the surface and rose right out of the water and made a huge splash. “We’re here,” said his mother.
